Been sick the last two days, and it's interferred with work and, of course, swimming. I wholeheartedly refuse to swim while sick, unless running away from a volcanic eruption or sinking cruise ship.
But swim with a head-cold when not in mortal danger? No way. My nose already feels like it does when I haven't surfaced in time on backstroke. Nothing worse than the burning feeling of water up the nose (well, Hitler is worse, as are Brussel Sprouts). Well, you get my meaning. I just couldn't get in the pool these past couple of days.
I did get to thinking, though. I believe I will hit that Dart 10K in England in September. I have to talk to the boss (both work- and home-bosses), but it'll be after all the huge work this summer, so it should work out. Unfortunately, I may have to go ahead and pay for it now, just so I'm sure I'm in. If I wait until I'm sure I can go, it'll be too late. For this (and a few other) reason, I cannot wait until I get back to the states.

I had a head cold this week too--funny how germs are the same on the other side of the world.
I took yesterday off too. I had a race scheduled which I was going to go through with, but it got canceled due to high pH level in the lake. (It's an urban lake, not legal for swimming except during a race. Water quality tends to be an issue there. The other lakes around here are nice.)
Hope you're feeling better.

I have switched and enlarged my open water swimming content from The Water Is Open to Open Water Source. You might want to change the hyperlink to www.openwatersource.com. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
