March was a good month for me, swimming-wise. No, didn't get any competitions in. Unfortunately. Still have not succeeded in one of my wishes while here; no Russian open water swimming. Still, March was a banner month for me. One I'd like to make my usual month in the coming future. Once my working schedule becomes normalized.
In March I swam 42.39 miles. Over 74K yards. For some, that about 10 days work. And for them I am happy. Good on ya! But now about me. Over 40 miles! That's about 1.36 miles per day of March. Awesome!
More specifically, those 42+ miles were swum over 17 days. So...that's almost 2.5 miles per workout. The month was anchored by my 10,000 yard swim on the 23rd. That was a fun day. I believe I will throw something like that workout in once a month, adding 10% each time. Let's see how far I can go!
April, however, will not be anything near that. I just got back from a business trip, which, helpfully for my swimming life, coincided with having a cold. Bad for business, but as business trips normally mean no swimming, it was nice to combine two reasons for not swimming over the same three days, instead of over something more like a week or 10 days. Even with that, April will be busy at work, and there might be entire weeks that I'll not get in the mysteriously blueizing pool. Oh well. 100 days and a wake-up!
