There is an open water race in Moscow!

A member of the interestingly named "Black Sepia Swimming Club" (Чёрная Каракатица in Russian) pointed me towards an upcoming open water race in the Moscow area.  The race will be on 3 July and offers distances of 3 and 5KM as well as one nautical mile. 

The race is located just outside of Moscow-proper in a village named Lopotovo.  It doesn't look like too bad a drive and we will have our car up to Russian standards soon, so perhaps a road trip?

The group hosting it has a funny name: The Union of Strong and Brave Romantics.  Even more interesting is the name in Russian:  Союз Сильных Смелых Романтиков, or, CCCP for short!  While they don't have any pictures of last year's open water race on their website, they do have pictures of other "competitions" they conduct throughout the year.
