Fall season is starting and with it, Alexandria Masters has reduced their evening practices to three times a week. So I've got to find a place to swim Wednesday nights. Saturday mornings continue, albeit a half-hour shorter than during the summer. Damn!
(Interestingly, this past Saturday, everyone in my lane was excited that, according to the website, the practice would only be an hour. At about 8 minutes till, one of my lane-mates asked the coach, "So, warm down now?" The coach laughed, and then announced to all that the website was wrong. Groans all around, except for me. I don't know if it is because I'm a cheap bastard and this just meant I'm getting more for my money, or I just love to be coached and will take all I can get. Either way, I was ecstatic when the coach then stated that "we can go till 10:30 [thus 2.5 hours!] if you like." I was the only one that enthusiastically asked, "Really!?")
So, the search is on. Arlington Masters practices on Wednesdays, but I recently saw something about the coach being out for another month. I don't like the idea of paying ~$8 to read a workout from a sheet of paper. Reston Masters will start their fall season in October, so maybe they'll have a Wednesday night workout? There's not much more around where I can handle the traffic and/or parking. I might look at some downtown DC options, but most of what I've found so far is morning practices. I just can't do that with my job.
