Yes, registration opened today, and the minute I heard that, I registered for the Swim for the Potomac 10K swim. Better yet, my daughter will be swimming her first open water swim at the same time.
The swim will be held in the Potomac by National Harbor, a very nice, if expensive, addition to the DC area. Parking will cost about as much as the swim ($20), but in the end, I think it'll be worth it. Especially since The Girl and I will be swimming in the same water.
Her 500m swim starts 20 minutes before my swim, so there is a chance I'll get to see her swim. Poor thing will get to see all of mine! All 3+ long hours of it.
In actuality, her mom will probably take her and her siblings somewhere to eat in between. No matter! I get to share the water with daughter #1 (also child #3 of 4).
Now, hopefully, this'll interest daughter #2 (#4 of 4) enough that she'll join the 2 of us the next time.
