Did a broken 5K pace swim on Wednesday based on my new CSS. I set my TT to 0:27.85 and set off to complete a 2000, 1500, 1000, 500 with no more than one beep rest in between. Kept to that pace the entire time, in fact, as usual, was a bit ahead of the beep, ~0:07. Except for one occasion when my swim cap rolled up and my TT popped out, I didn't stop. I'm becoming very adept at adjusting my goggles while kicking backstroke, which, for some damn reason, I had to do several times during the 2000. But once I got that figured out, I was good.
So, with less than 30 seconds rest in between, I completed the 5K in 1:34. No pains at all. Lower back felt great, shoulders were good, nice swim. I've got Tampa in a couple weeks, but as that's a relay, I'm not really tapering. So my next long day I'll try 2500, 2000, 1500, 1000 for 7K. I'll do it at the same CSS+0:10.
